While it runs, the System File Checker will look for corrupted files and attempt to repair them if possible. The process will take some time-up to several minutes depending on the size of your drive. Just type in sfc /scannow and sit back and wait.
While it may look intimidating, it isn’t. Open the command prompt by typing Windows + R and then cmd.
